According to its Twitter account, Konami will reveal the long-awaited voice of Metal Gear Solid 5‘s Solid Snake next Thursday, June 6th, during their Pre-E3 show on Gamespot.
As series director Hideo Kojima revealed the first Metal Gear Solid 5 footage earlier this year, word also came out that David Hayter won’t be playing Solid Snake this time around. Kojima explained earlier this year that he is trying to reinvent the franchise, an answer that rang hollow for many fans. With all the effort Kojima put into trying to fake fans out about Metal Gear Solid 5 actually being a different franchise altogether, he becomes a little tough to believe.
Many of us are half-expecting the reveal to be David Hayter’s classic growl come next Thursday, but then the other big stealth franchise, Splinter Cell, picked up a new voice actor for Blacklist.
Hey, maybe Snake will be Michael Ironside! Probably not.
